Nissan unveils its new X-Trail in China at the Shanghai Motor Show 2021, twin of the American Nissan Rogue. It will be marketed in 2022 in Europe.
Nissan is taking advantage of the Shanghai Motor Show, which opens its doors today and until April 28, 2021, to present its Nissan X-Trail generation to the Chinese public, whose angular styling is inspired by the Nissan X-Motion concept unveiled in 2018. Unsurprisingly, the new X-Trail is identical to the new generation of the Nissan Rogue, presented last year in the United States. United, and completes the range of SUVs from the Japanese manufacturer, which includes the Juke, Qashqai as well as the latest addition: the 100% electric Nissan Ariya.
Like the Nissan Qashqai, the new X-Trail is now based on the modular platform CMF-C Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and although Nissan has yet to reveal its spec sheet, it should share it with the Rogue. With 4.64 meters long, it retains the size of its predecessor, as well as its seven-seater configuration thanks to a third row of folding seats in the trunk. The Nissan Pro-Pilot Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system is also expected to be there.
Under the hood we should find a varied offer, but Nissan emphasizes the characteristics of the e-Power motorization which will be offered in Europe: this is an electric motor, but which does not need to be recharged to operate. Indeed, a heat engine performs the role of generator to power the electric motor, thus reducing CO emissions.2 of the model compared to a traditional 100% thermal engine.
Nissan specifies that all-wheel drive will also be offered in the catalog of the new Nissan X-Trail, which will be marketed at thesummer 2022 in Europe.
