In 2022, there will be two Grand Prix in the United States : in addition to the usual Grand Prix of the Americas in Texas, there will be a city race in Miami. Formula 1 has announced that it has signed a 10-year contract with the city, after long negotiations.
Formula 1 therefore finally has its second American Grand Prix, after the failure of negotiations with New York, and rumors that have persisted in Miami for a few years. The United States is a key market for F1 : the country is passionate about cars, but until then little fond of Formula 1, considered too European and elitist compared to the local Indycar and Nascar.

The route itself has been drawn autour du Hard Rock Stadium, a gigantic sports complex as only Americans know the secret. With two large quick portions
and a few slow turns, it is reminiscent of circuits like Sochi in Russia, Yas Marinas in Abu Dhabi, or Baku in Azerbaijan. It will use the parking lot and streets parallel to the stadium, with top speeds announced at 320 km / h and an average speed of around 220 km / h.The Miami circuit will become the 11th track used by F1 in the United States, after big names like Indianapolis, Sebring, Watkins Glen, and urban circuits like Las Vegas or Dallas in the 1980s.
