Porsche was founded in 1931, but it did not enter the Chinese market until 70 years later, in 2001. To celebrate the anniversary of its 20 year presence in the Middle Kingdom, Porsche presented a special edition from Porsche 911 Turbo S baptized « 20 Years Porsche China Edition » at the Shanghai Auto Show, which opens until April 28, 2021.

Porsche 911 Turbo S (2021): a palette of five historic colors

Imagined by the personalization department Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, this special edition is offered with a five-shade palette, inspired by the brand’s historic models: Oslo Blue, Star Ruby Red, Mint Green, Viola Purple or Gulf Orange. It stands out in particular with the number 20 on its doors, a “20 Years Porsche China Edition” badge on the central pillars, or even metallic gray stripes which run through the body, thus emphasizing the exclusivity of the model.

Inside we find an embossing « Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur » on the leather of its central armrest, an engraving “20 Years Porsche China Edition” under the logo of the dashboard as well as aluminum door sills, or even inserts matching the color of the bodywork, which are also found on the key.

Overall, this special edition only sports cosmetic changes, since nothing has changed under the hood: we still find the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six of the Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S , developing 650 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, associated with an 8-speed PDK gearbox. With its Sport Chrono pack available as standard, the 0 to 100 km / h is swallowed in 2.7 seconds, for a maximum speed of 330 km / h.

As the name suggests, this special edition will only be marketed in China, and it will not be cheap! Indeed, it is displayed at the price of 3,114,500 yuan, the equivalent of 398.000 euros… Porsche does not indicate, however, whether its production will be limited in number of copies, but it will most likely be over time.
