The Wolfsburg manufacturer is presenting the new Volkswagen ID.6 at the Shanghai Motor Show, a large, 100% electric 7-seater SUV marketed in China.

Aesthetically, the new Volkswagen ID.6 is inspired by the concept ID.Roomzz, also presented in Shanghai in 2019. Based on Volkswagen’s MEB modular electric platform, with its 4.88 meters long, the ID.6 is in a way a Volkswagen ID.4 whose wheelbase would have been lengthened to accommodate two additional passengers in a third row of seats.

To animate it, we find two electric motors, placed at the front and at the rear of the car, developing a total power of 305 horses

. The set allows to swallow the 0 to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds, for a maximum speed of 160 km / h. Two battery levels are available, with a capacity of 58 kWh and 77 kWh, offering respectively a range of 436 km and 588 km.

Like the other models in the ID family, the on-board technologies are rich, notably with the “Hello ID” voice assistant. », As well as the IQ.Drive assistance systems, including the semi-automated Travel Assist function.

The two versions of the Volkswagen ID.6 will only be marketed in China, Volkswagen having, for the moment, not planned to market the model in France or in Europe.
