Since its launch in 1975, the Volkswagen Polo has become a staple of European city cars, with around 18 million copies elapsed. Many versions have emerged in more than 45 years, such as the Cross Polo, the Polo GTI or the Polo Arlequin, and Volkswagen has succeeded in making its Polo timeless, just like with the Golf.

Launched in 2017, the sixth generation of the Polo is about to benefit from a mid-career restyling, which will be presented on 22 avril 2021. To help us be patient, Volkswagen today unveils a first teaser illustration of the model, on which we discover its front face: the German city car will adopt a new light signature at the front, made up of new blocks. LED optics, linked together by a light strip also in LED, highlighting the brand’s new logo in the center of the grille.

So little information has filtered out for the moment, the new restyled Volkswagen Polo has already been surprised during road tests, and apart from touch-ups on the front panel and the optics, its style has changed little. New original taillights, whose design is similar to those of the Volkswagen Golf VIII, also seem to be on the program.

According to Volkswagen, in addition to the design, the structure of the offer of the restyled Polo should be revised, with probably a new range, while the on-board technologies will evolve. On-board instrumentation should go digital, while connectivity possibilities should be enhanced. Finally, the color chart of the Polo should also be supplemented with new colors, such as the purple that can be seen in this first illustration.
