Mercedes will unveil on May 10 a concept car foreshadowing the future EQT, a 100% electric MPV derived from the new Renault Kangoo.
This year, the famous Renault Kangoo is renewed, and as for its previous generation, the partnership between the French manufacturer and Daimler will give birth to Mercedes badged derivatives of the French utility, whether with the Quote in van version for professionals, or Class T, a recreational vehicle for individuals.
And as for the Kangoo E-Tech, the Mercedes Citan and Class T will be available in 100% electric versions : the first will then be named e-Citan, while the second will adopt the name EQT, and thus join the EQ family of electric vehicles from Mercedes. Apart from this difference in name, the Mercedes EQT and Class T will be based on the same Renault CMF-C platform, and will be distinguished only by a few aesthetic artifices, like the other models of the EQ family, such as the recently presented Mercedes EQB which is none other than the electric version of the Mercedes GLB .
In a desire to focus on its new electrified models, the Stuttgart manufacturer has chosen to unveil the EQT before the T-Class. This will be presented as a concept car on May 10, 2021, and to help us wait, Mercedes has already released a first teaser photo of Mercedes EQT Concept, giving us a good overview of its front.
We discover an imposing full grille, with multiple star patterns highlighting the brand’s logo in its center. The light signature The tapered front optics are reminiscent of that of other models in the Mercedes EQ range. Just like the Renault Kangoo, the Mercedes Class T and EQT will upgrade to a higher range, and will approach at Mercedes the refinement of a V-Class, itself available in a 100% electric version with the EQV. Mercedes badged models will also be produced in France, in the Renault factory in Maubeuge (59).
See you in a few weeks to discover the Mercedes EQT Concept in full!
