Whether in Europe or the United States, these vans have democratized and rejuvenated the image of motorhomes. Homemade, a new romanticism

One of the advantages of campervans is that it is possible to make it yourself. In theory, it’s pretty straightforward: buy a utility, new or used, do some insulation work, add a bed, kitchen, sanitary space, and go and play. The idea is attractive, and seems to tempt a young audience in search of adventure. But obviously these works are often far from simple. And the hand-made pushes the resale prices down.

Maneuverability, a much less intimidating factor

The size, both in length and width, of a motorhome intimidates novices. Not easy to maneuver and even less to park, they are not comfortable, especially in the city. Space on board, good and less good

Obviously, these converted vans cannot compete with full size motorhomes in terms of space on board. But on the larger versions, the roominess can be quite correct, with a seating area in the front, a stove, a transverse bed, and shower / WC. But vans are primarily intended for solo travelers or couples: if you are with family, they will not be suitable.

Where it is often difficult to find a new motorhome under € 50,000 with the correct equipment, many good quality vans are available. available below 40,000 €, or even much less on occasion.
