back to the needle counter!

Faced with a shortage of semiconductors, Peugeot will have to go back to the good old needle counter on its second generation 308!

Flashback for the Peugeot 308! Unexpected consequence of the semiconductor shortage which has hit the entire automotive industry for several months, the lion brand will have to abandon the digital handset within a few weeks on its compact.

The 308 will indeed go back to the good old needle counter !

“This is a nimble and nimble way of getting around a blocking problem for the production of the car, while the ‘chips’ crisis is over,” said a spokesperson for Stellantis.

The new 308 spared

A blow to the digital age. But the risk of disappointing certain customers is considered limited by the firm since this problem only concerns the second generation of the 308, the one launched in 2013 and which is coming to the end of the cycle. Presented in March 2021, the new 308 is spared by the measure, just like the other models of the lion.

400 € discount?

Analog meters should reappear on the 308 during the month of May. In the meantime, Peugeot is already considering the pricing impact of this industrial decision. According to LCI television channel, the brand could grant a discount of 400 euros on the impacted models.
