Kia announced its partnership with Ionity, the largest network of fast-charging stations for electric cars in Europe.
If we put aside Tesla and its proprietary superchargers, Ionity is the only European-wide alternative to the American manufacturer’s network of terminals. After Hyundai, it’s Kia’s turn to formalize its membership in the Ionity network : the Korean manufacturer thus joins BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Ford, which allows it to offer its customers a network of 400 stations in 24 European countries, equipped with superchargeurs de 350 kW power.
In France, Kia customers will be able to access 75 stations of the Ionity network, i.e. a total of 374 terminals quick to recharge their e-Niro and e-Soul, or the recently unveiled EV6. By the end of the year, other station openings in France will increase this number to 80 stations and 400 terminals in total.
Billing will be done by the minute, at the rate of 0.29 euros per minute, after taking out a subscription « Ionity Power » from 13 euros / month. Excluding subscription, this rate goes up to 0.79 euro / minute. With the offer Ionity Power, Kia announces that a full tank (10 to 80% charge) will cost the sum of 5.22 € for the EV6, and 14.50 € for the Kia e-Niro and Kia e-Soul.
Each electric model of the brand will also be accompanied by a KiaCharge card and a application mobile, allowing access to the Ionity network but also to the network Digital Charging Solutions (DCS) with 218,500 charging stations across Europe, including 21,850 in France.
