It’s time for the first tests for the large French premium sedan!
A little over a year after its presentation, it’s time for first tests for the DS 9 ! Our journalist Julien Marcos was able to get acquainted on the road with the large French sedan.
Large sedan: this title is justified, since the DS 9 measures almost 5 meters long ! Enough to place it on the path of German premiums that are the Mercedes Class E, the BMW 5 Series, and the Audi A6. Cadors that the Frenchwoman is not afraid to face. She does besides full of technologies, with for example an adaptive suspension which reads the road via a camera, autonomous driving, a night vision system… It is in the wind!
But according to our test journalist, its main asset is comfort : DS has bet everything on this aspect, whether in terms of suspensions, noise, or space on board, very generous. With its very complete equipment at the back, we are there by the way almost more pampered as a passenger. Especially since absolute comfort comes at the level of dynamism, which also suffers from large mass of this hybrid version E-Tense 225. But the bias is assumed, and that’s good!
This mid-range plug-in hybrid version is expected to make up the bulk of the DS 9’s sales, although other powertrains are available, from the simple PureTech 225 thermal to the 360 four-wheel-drive hybrid, the technique of which comes directly from the Peugeot 508 PSE.
