The new DS 9 sedan will not be available as a station wagon, according to a representative of the premium brand of the Stellantis group.
DS Automobiles has confirmed that a version break of the news DS 9 would not be on the program. Technically, such a body variant could be achieved, because the model is based on the EMP2 platform which equips a large number of models of the Stellantis group (PSA), including the new generation of the Peugeot 508: this one does exist in SW station wagon version.
In an interview with the British magazine Autocar, Jules Tilstone, Managing Director of DS Automobiles in the United Kingdom, confirmed the information: “There will be no station wagon version. It is an E-segment car, and although it relies on the extended EMP2 platform, it is not in the segment where you would have a station wagon version ”.
For once, the British boss of the French premium brand seems to have forgotten that the competitors of the DS 9 do indeed offer a station wagon version: Audi A6 Avant, Mercedes Class E Break or even BMW 5 Series Touring!
Marketed therefore only as a sedan, the new DS 9 is offered in the catalog at a starting price. from 47,700 euros for the 1.6 PureTech petrol engine of 225 hp, and from 55,000 euros for the hybrid version (E-Tense 225 hp). The most powerful version is the E-Tense 4 × 4 360 horsepower, offered from 66,500 euros, excluding options.
The optional equipment includes in particular the alarm and deadlock, the extended dual-zone automatic air conditioning, the motorized boot, the Focal Electra Hi-Fi system, the heated windshield, or the active suspension system controlled by a “DS Active” camera. Scan Suspension ”.
