zoom on its technologies in video

From night vision to adaptive suspensions, return to these technologies which push the DS 9 to compete with the Germans.

The new DS 9 represents the top of French premium, with a range that starts at € 47,700 and goes well above € 60,000 depending on the engine. At these prices, and with its profile of a large saloon of almost 5 meters, it finds on its way German premium specialists, like the Audi A6, the Mercedes E-Class, or the BMW 5 Series.

And to compete with the latter, the DS 9 has decided to bet on embedded technologies, at the service of a priority given to comfort. Here is our video which details 5 of these high-tech advances:

Update on 5 on-board technologies of the DS 9

  • DS Active Scan Suspension : this controlled suspension uses a camera and sensors to scan the road and adapt the damping according to bumps and waves. Bluffing in use!
  • DS Drive Assist : like many new cars, the DS 9 is equipped with a level 2 semi-autonomous driving assistant. The car can therefore manage bends, lane keeping and safety distances, up to the stop. The driver must always be attentive. Nothing revolutionary at this level, but appreciable.
  • DS Night Vision : Using an infrared camera, the driver can enjoy night vision integrated into the digital instrument cluster. Convenient for spotting road hazards that are difficult to see at night, such as cyclists or animals.
  • DS Driver Attention Monitoring : a small module placed on the steering column analyzes the driver’s state of fatigue using an infrared camera and sensors. What to avoid an accident caused by drowsiness, one of the greatest risks on the highway for example.
  • DS Active LED Vision : as on the DS 7 Crossback, the LED modules of the headlights are movable. They adapt to all situations automatically, changing the lighting according to the brightness, the weather, other road users, the type of lane, etc.

These 5 technologies are not revolutionary. Missing also some latest advances and gadgets against the Germans. But they allow the DS 9 to keep its head up against the competition, while highlighting its more affordable price and very convincing comfort.
