Certainly, automobile production in France is in difficulty. But we are expecting a rebound in 2021, in particular thanks to these 10 “made in France” models!
French automobile production is ailing. Between the Covid, relocations and plant closures, France is no longer on the podium of producing countries in Europe, and is even slipping behind the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A collapse of production found almost everywhere in Europe: a recent study estimates that 4.2 million fewer vehicles were produced in 2020.
But all is not lost for France. First, many models are still produced in the country. Besides the Toyota Yaris, which proudly displays as a Japanese Made In France, we find other models such as the future Peugeot 308 III or Citroën C5 X, the very popular Peugeot 3008, the new Renault Kangoo and its cousin the Mercedes Class T, or the Nissan Micra and the Opel Mokka. Result: production should bounce back in 2021, with an expected volume of around 1.5 million vehicles.
But which cars are produced the most in France? A study by Inovev, sent to Auto Plus, reveals production estimates for the year 2021. Here are the 10 models that will be produced the most in France this year:

Unsurprisingly, the Peugeot 3008 is at the top of the standings, ahead of the new Peugeot 308 III which should appeal to many French people. The new Renault Kangoo occupies a surprise third place, and will also become the most produced Renault in France in 2021. Behind, the combined figures of the Toyota Yaris and Yaris Cross would bring the Valenciennes plant to the top of the ranking, while the Renault Zoe is the only 100% electric in this ranking.
