This summer in Monaco, the Artcurial house will be auctioning off a somewhat special Peugeot 205 T16, since it is the ultimate model produced!
A true legend of motorsport, the Peugeot 205 T16 also existed in civilian version, with the “200 Series”: only 200 copies were produced for the road, essential to allow its homologation in rallying, and this model is today particularly rare and prized. The famous auction house Artcurial Motorcars will be offering collectors a special copy of this highly desirable 205 Turbo 16 this summer, since it is the number 200 : the very last produced!
This unique Peugeot 205 T16 from 1984 features an iconic blue and white livery in Pioneer colors, and was initially delivered to Jacky Setton, the former CEO of Pioneer France. The famous brand of Hi-Fi and car radios was at the time closely linked to motorsport, being in particular the sponsor of Peugeot in rally-raid, with the 205 T16 Grand Raid, but also entered in Formula 1, with the ‘Osella Squadra Corse stable.
Peugeot 205 T16: a copy estimated at € 300,000
No additional information as to its condition or mileage has yet been released, but Artcurial already estimates the price of this exclusive Peugeot 205 T16. between 240,000 and 300,000 euros. That said, its final price is likely to soar even higher, like the ex-205 T16 of Jean Todt, recently sold at 419,260 €!
Under the hood, we find a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.8-liter, whose 200 horsepower are transmitted to the four-wheel drive via a five-speed manual transmission, allowing a 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds, for a maximum speed of 214 km / h.
Artcurial Motorcars will meet us on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monaco, for this automobile auction which is already shaping up to be the most anticipated of the summer, with around a hundred cars, each more remarkable than the next, including an Aston Martin DB5 from 1965, or a Lamborghini Miura P400 from 1968.
