The Mercedes-AMG GT and BMW 8 Series are luxury German models, but what would they give with a less conventional silhouette? A car designer imagined them in shooting brakes.
The shooting brakes are often in the spotlight among German manufacturers: at Mercedes, for example, we find the CLA Shooting Brake, and an Arteon Shooting Brake at Volkswagen, while at Audi, the sports coupe TT has been transformed into a shooting brake twice in as concept cars, in 2005 and 2014, but these never made the leap to production.
Other equally exclusive models have seen the light of day in Europe, such as the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, or the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, whose production was stopped last year to make way for the brand’s future SUV, the Purosangue. Even if it is quite rare on our roads, the shooting brake silhouette is particularly popular on the internet, and many designers regularly imagine their favorite models transformed into elegant hunting breaks.
This is the case of automotive illustrator Sugar Design, who had the idea of transforming the two high-end Mercedes-AMG GT and BMW 8 Series coupes into elegant shooting brakes. Even if the two models already exist in equally desirable convertible versions, these hunting station wagons have particularly successful lines. The version signed AMG even carries two pairs of skis on its roof, while the two models have glass roofs inscribed in the extension of their windshields.
