Tamiya, a famous manufacturer of remote control cars, has decided to build a human-sized version of one of its most famous models. It will even be possible to get behind the wheel!
Tamiya is a Japanese brand that has been manufacturing scale models and remote control cars for over half a century. Suffice to say that, in this area, they have a lot of experience. So much that they decided to build a human-sized version of one of their most famous models: the Wild One!
And no need for a remote control to steer the small 2-wheel drive buggy. It will be possible to sit behind the wheel and drive it, like any car! The vehicle will be powered by a small electric motor of 4 KW, or approximately 5.5 hp. It’s not a lot, but it should also weigh only 250kg, which will allow it toreach a reasonable speed of 48 km / h. Its announced autonomy is around 40 km.
Tamiya is not going into this project alone. Indeed, all the mechanical components are developed by a small company called The Little Car Company which already builds small copies of Bugatti and Aston Martin that can be driven! We are therefore far from the simple marketing coup. For the youngest and those who have remained great children, it’s time to start saving! This Wild One will be available in 2022 for a price starting at £ 6,000 or nearly € 7,000 at the current exchange rate.
