This rally legend is now 100% electric and Made in France!
The retrofit has struck again! A legend of the 1980s has just traded his heat engine for a battery pack: the Lancia Delta Evoluzione.
This very special Delta, halfway between the restomod (restoring a car with modern parts) and the retrofit (installing an electric motor in a thermal car), is the work of GCK Exclusiv-e, a French workshop based in Savoie and Puy-de-Dôme. GCK, the parent company, is a company that brings together the operations of the circuit de Charade, the preparation of rally-raid cars or a project to provide battery recharging solutions during events. In short, a range of know-how ranging from motorsport to electric. A perfect mix to imagine a retrofit!
The famous Lancia Delta Evo was therefore completely revised. But the changes are discreet on the outside: matte gray paint, a carbon blade up front, a specific diffuser and spoiler, and a few openings in the hood and fenders. There is no question here of completely reviewing the look of the Italian legend, as Automobili Amos does for example with the Lancia Delta Futurista. The same goes for the interior, which is simply restored
with modern materials. From a technical point of view, the thermal block is replaced by an electric motor of similar power: about 200 hp, and 350 Nm of torque. Since performance does not explode, GCK was able to keep the original manual gearbox, to allow the driver to play on the progressiveness of the acceleration. All for a 0 to 100 km / h announced in 6.6 seconds, a second more than the thermal Delta, the weight of the batteries requires. These have a capacity of 30 kWh, for a range announced at 160 km. Enough to have fun in the mountains!
GCK plans a limited production of 47 copies, divided between 36 Delta Evo-E and 11 Delta Evo-E Rallye, even more special. All with the blessing of the pilot Didier Auriol, who was able to test the car before announcing himself as the sponsor of the operation. It promises !
