According to the latest Avere-France barometer, there are 33,363 charging points for electric vehicles open to the public in France.
At 1is May 2021, metropolitan France has 33,363 charging points open to the public, an increase of + 7% since February 2021. A figure which is not yet sufficient for Avere-France, the national association for the development of electric mobility, which denounces a deterioration in the ratios of the number of vehicles per charging point. Indeed, with more than 371,000 electric vehicles put into circulation since 2010, France has an average of 1 charging point for 12 100% electric vehicles (1 in 16 including the 164,000 plug-in hybrid models).
In total, it is not less than 451,803 charging points which are listed in France. This figure represents all the private and public points installed in the territory: in detail, this includes 33,363 points open to the public (7%), 232,990 points installed in companies (52%) and 185,450 at private homes (41%). ).
Of the 33,363 charging points open to the public, 40% are located on roads and public sites, 23% in businesses and shops, and 37% in public car parks. The majority (66%) offer accelerated charging (from 14 to 22 kW), or normal (less than 11 kW) at 26%. Fast and ultra-fast charging points (over 24 kW), on the other hand, only represent 8% of the total.
On the national territory, Île-de-France is at the top of the number of charging points
open to the public, with 5,653 charging points (17% of the total), followed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region with 3,681 charging points (11% of the total). Occitanie occupies the third step of the podium, with 3,581 charging points (10.7% of the total).
