The American organization Consumer Reports tried to demonstrate in a video that a Tesla equipped with theAutopilot, the advanced autonomous driving system, is able to drive easily on its own. To do this, the driver attached a steel weight to the steering wheel to simulate the presence of his hands as the car is moving and the Autopilot is engaged. He then goes into the passenger seat while the car is still in movement.

Fault

Repeated several times (on a closed site fortunately), the maneuver shows that Tesla has no sensor placed on the seat to detect or not the presence of a driver. This forgetting is astonishing when one knows the technology from the American manufacturer which has enough to make the competition blush …
