This Peugeot 205 Rallye from 1988, recently restored, is up for auction in Sweden: a nice alternative to the 205 GTI!
In the 1980s, Peugeot let loose on sports models: if we no longer present the Peugeot 205 GTI, whose prices are constantly soaring, another model deserves just as much attention: the Peugeot 205 Rally.
Sporty version signed Peugeot Talbot Sport much more refined than the GTI, the 205 Rallye weighs only 780 kg on the scale (i.e. 75 kg less than the GTI 1.6) and is powered by a small four-cylinder with carburettors of 1.3 liters and 103 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.2 seconds, for a maximum speed of 190 horsepower.
Model often subject to savage modifications at the time, it is today rather difficult to find a Peugeot 205 Rallye in good condition. The Collecting Cars website now offers a 1988 model for auction, one of the first copies produced, in immaculate condition.
After being restored by a French enthusiast in 2018 and 2019, the car was then sold to its new owner in Sweden, who barely covered 200 km with it, before putting it back on sale today: it displays today 97,834 km on the odometer. The car benefited in particular from a complete White Meije paint, an interior refurbishment with black and red upholstery, as well as a renovation of its mechanics. The set conforms to its original specifications, and we even find the original Alpine cassette radio!
At the time of this writing, auctions for this beautiful Peugeot 205 Rallye have already reached 9,000 euros. You only have a few days left to bid, with the sale ending May 17, 2021.
