an approved retrofit kit

The 2CV Méhari Club Cassis has successfully obtained the very first homologation in France for an automobile retrofit kit, which will soon be offered for sale for the Citroën 2 CV.

The 2CV Méhari Club Cassis is a benchmark in the world of vintage cars, and more specifically those of the chevron brand. Drawing on its experience in marketing a 100% electric Méhari since 2017, the Cassidaine company has developed a retrofit kit, called R-Fit.

This kit has just passed the tests of the UTAC (Union Technique de l’Automobile, du motocycle et du Cycle), and thus becomes the whole first automotive electric conversion kit to obtain homologation in France. This one is intended for Citroën 2CV 6 (AKZA type), but should soon be available for other old vehicles such as the 2CV Fourgonnette, Méhari, Dyane or even Ami.

R-Fit: € 14,000 to transform his Citroën 2 CV into electric

This solution is presented as being much less expensive and with a lower environmental impact than the acquisition of a new electric vehicle: in fact, you will have to count 14.000 euros

(excluding the cost of the 2 CV) for the installation of an R-Fit kit, including the battery pack, the charger, the cabling, the electric motor, as well as the electronic management.

The car can be recharged on a conventional 220 V outlet in 3 hours 30 minutes, and offers up 90 km of autonomy according to the WLTP protocol. It is not much, but the 2CV Méhari Club Cassis specifies that a user of an old vehicle only drives on average a few tens of kilometers per day. In accordance with regulations, the power of the electric motor must be similar to that of the original thermal motor: this Citroën 2 CV electric therefore develops 29 horses, while the original gearbox is retained.
