Ralf Brandstätter, CEO of the Volkswagen brand, has unveiled the first images of an electric sports car concept called ID.X. The future ID.3 GTX?
No time to waste on the Volkswagen side. Just hours after launching the ID.4 GTX (from € 52,450), its first sporty electric model, the German manufacturer is already announcing a new vitamin vehicle project.
Ralf Brandstätter, the general manager of the brand, has just published on his Linkedin account the first images of the ID.X concept, who could foreshadowing a new generation of zero-emission sports cars.
To design it, the manager reveals that VW engineers started with the ID.3 and grafted it an 82 kWh battery as well as various parts of the ID.4 GTX. The engine and the chassis were notably modified while the weight was lowered by 200 kg.
In the end, this would give the compact a power of around 330 hp and all-wheel drive (an electric motor on each axle). What allow him to swallow the 0 to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds.
However, at this point, Ralf Brandstätter does not yet know if the ID.X will have a production future, but it can still be imagined giving life to an ID.3 GTX. To be continued …
