Towards an upheaval of the Stellantis distribution network?

It’s a small ad that could well have heavier repercussions at dealerships all over Europe.

Indeed, to everyone’s surprise, the group Stellantis which was born at the beginning of the year and which comprises nearly 14 car brands announced that ” the sales and distribution of services contracts for all Stellantis * brands will be terminated in June 2021, with two years’ notice. The new distribution network will be selected shortly thereafter, on the basis of objective criteria and key factors ”.

Stellantis takes a radical decision

The group, resulting from the merger between PSA and Fiat Chrysler, puts forward several reasons to explain this radical decision. Firstly, environmental and regulatory changes, who ” leading brands’ ranges towards electrification have a definite impact on the current distribution model ”

Finally, Stellantis also mentions that “The next BER (Block Exemption Regulation) scheduled for 2023 should lead to adjustments to current contracts and distribution standards”

Towards an efficient, efficient and optimized distribution model

Behind this general reshuffle, thestake for the group is of ” promote a sustainable distribution model by relying on an efficient, efficient and optimized multi-brand distribution network of Stellantis, which will locally represent the brands and ensure the development of sales and after-sales activities with an emphasis on high level customer satisfaction ”.

The concession contracts will thus be terminated with two years’ notice and the new distribution network ” will be selected on the basis of objective criteria and key factors ».
