Roadcar is a brand of the German group Pössl, which specializes in affordable campervans for lovers of outdoor adventures. Its range offers several sizes of vehicles, with basic but functional equipment, and which does not ignore comfort. The Roadcar R540 is the most compact of the models in the range, and with a price starting from 38,399 euros, it is one of the cheapest campervans on the market.
Long de 5,41 meters 2.05 meters wide and 2.58 meters high, the R540 is based on two carriers to choose from: Citroën Jumper or Fiat Ducato. Under the hood, Roadcar offers the choice of several 2.2-liter Diesel engines at Citroën: 120, 140 and 165 horsepower, while at Fiat, there is a 2.3-liter Diesel available in 120, 140, 160 and 180 horsepower.
On board, the two swivel front seats and a small bench seat will accommodate four people around a retractable table. The kitchen area has a worktop, a two-burner gas hob, a 90-liter compression refrigerator, not to mention practical storage space. The toilet cabin has a shower and a toilet, while at the rear, the 133 x 195 cm bed in the hold can accommodate two people. This can be supplemented with an extra bed for one person, 185 x 84 cm.
Marketed from 38,399 euros (Citroën) and 39,399 euros (Fiat), the Roadcar R540 also offers a well-stocked options catalog, including a “Chassis Pack” at 2,420 euros (Citroën) and 2,200 euros (Fiat), as well as a “Comfort Pack” at 1,099 euros.
