The competition is tight at the top of the electric galaxy: Audi RS e-tron GT, Porsche Taycan Turbo, Tesla Model S… It’s time to get to the bottom of it: which of these three sports sedans is the fastest?
They are all three at the top of the electric world: the Tesla Model S Performance, the Porsche Taycan Turbo, and the Audi RS e-tron GT are three powerful electric sedans. And they find themselves on the battlefield of the “drag race”, this drag race, for a video of our British colleagues from Carwow!
In the well-established camp of the American sedan, Elon Musk fans can count on the greatest power of the Tesla: more than 700 hp, while the Audi RS e-tron GT has to be content with “only” 646 hp in Boost mode, and 680 hp for the Porsche Taycan Turbo. With, as a bonus, a little less weight for the large Tesla sedan.
The result is predictable: the Tesla wins over the 400m standing start exercise. But the results are tight, so that the Carwow teams have to do it 3 times to achieve a result they consider representative. All this thanks in particular to the two-speed gearbox of the Germans, which makes it possible to fill the power deficit a little.
But the standing start test is not the only measurement carried out by Carwow: there remain the practice of the recoveries, and the braking test. And the Tesla is much less magnanimous in these events … Check out the full video:
