Tesla plans to open factory in Russia

Tesla is in the process of establishing itself in Russia to open a new Gigafactory. Elon Musk is said to have claimed to be looking for factories “in other parts of the world”.

Elon Musk is looking at it big this year. The boss of Tesla continues to launch projects and establish themselves all over the world, by opening up new “ Gigafactory“. Factories specially dedicated to the manufacture of its electric vehicles but also batteries.

After opening a Gigafactory in Shanghai in 2019, which was built in less than a year, and the one near Berlin in Germany which has encountered some problems since the start of its work, the CEO of Tesla now has Russia in his sights.

A Gigafactory in Russia?

In any case, this is what he would have said on May 21, during his participation in a video conference for Russian students.

“I think we’re on the verge of establishing Tesla’s presence in Russia and that would be great. And more broadly, also in Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. It is important for us to support Tesla supporters like you ”.

Tesla could therefore start, just after the opening of its plant in Germany, a construction site in the country of Vladimir Putin. If this comes to fruition, it would allow the American brand to own nearly 6 factories in the world. Today there are three in the United States (Nevada, California and Texas), one under construction near Berlin in Germany and finally one in China, in Shanghai.
