It’s official, the Geneva Motor Show will be back in 2022

The Geneva Motor Show will be back next year: it will be held from February 19 to 27, 2022, and registrations for exhibitors have been opened.

Event particularly awaited by car fans, the Geneva Motor Show (also called Geneva International Motor Show or GIMS) is usually held every year in March. The 2020 edition was canceled at the last minute, due to health restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic, then the 2021 edition suffered the same fate. Fortunately, the 2022 edition will take place, provided that the evolution of health policy allows it again.

Geneva Motor Show 2022: it will be held from February 19 to 27

The organizers of the Swiss fair have just opened registrations to exhibitors for the next edition, the 91th since that of 1905. Note the date on your diaries: the Geneva Motor Show 2022 will take place from February 19 to 27, and the days reserved for press will be held from February 17 to 18, 2022, just before the official opening to the public.

The event has therefore been brought forward, and will now be held in February instead of March, but like every year, the Geneva Motor Show will take place in Palexpo

, the Geneva exhibition and convention center which is located near the eponymous airport.

“With the opening of registrations, the organization of GIMS 2022 is officially launched. My team and I look forward to presenting our concept to exhibitors and, subsequently, to the public. We sincerely hope that the health situation and the political framework conditions linked to COVID-19 will allow us to bring this project to life ” announced on this occasion Sandro Mesquita, General Manager of the Show, who plans to unveil more details on the concept of the next GIMS in the coming weeks.

It remains to be seen whether the exhibitors will make their comeback at the Geneva Motor Show as well, or whether they will decide to definitively turn the page on traditional events with the public following the disastrous episode of 2020 when the Paris Motor Show took place. also been canceled… To be continued!
