Production of this Russian Rolls-Royce rival, backed by Vladimir Putin himself, has started at the Ford Sollers plant in Elabuga, Russia.
Serial production of theAurus Senate was launched at the Ford Sollers plant in Elabuga, located in western Russia. This luxury sedan was developed under the impetus of Vladimir Poutine, who wanted a new state limousine, just like in the good old days of the Soviet Union.
On this occasion, the Russian President declared that this industrial launch represented a “Significant event for the Russian automotive industry, and for the national industry as a whole”.
This prestigious model is not only reserved for the services of the Russian State, but is aimed at wealthy customers by positioning itself as an alternative to Rolls-Royce or Bentley. The manufacturer plans to produce between 200 and 300 copies per year, at a unit rate of 18 to 22 million rubles depending on the version, i.e. the equivalent from 203,000 to 248,000 euros.
Under the hood we find a 4.4-liter twin-turbo hybrid V8 of displacement, developed in collaboration with Porsche and displaying a power of 590 horsepower and 880 Nm of torque, all transmitted to the four-wheel drive via a nine-speed automatic transmission. An even more prestigious version, equipped with a V12 engine, should make its appearance later.
Inside, the model is fully customizable, with two independent rear seats, a Champagne refrigerator, aviation shelves, not to mention a good dose of leather and real wood inserts.
