This second generation Jeep Wrangler has been lengthened by almost 1.40 meters, to be transformed into a “limousine” version!
Until 2007 and the launch of the third generation of this iconic 4 × 4, the Jeep Wrangler was only offered in a short three-door version. The few fans of the brand who wanted a five-door version have embarked on in-house conversions, but this one is truly out of the ordinary, with its five doors and its third row of seats !
This Jeep Wrangler Rubicon “limousine” is the work of Illusion Coach Builds, an American coachbuilder: the transformation was carried out in March 2006, just after its delivery. TheWrangler TJ’s wheelbase has been increased by almost 1.40 meters, while two doors have been added at the rear, as well as two additional seats which carry the total of six seats, all in three rows. A custom-made hood covers the entire model.
Aside from the addition of the third row of seats, the interior of this Wrangler remains fairly basic: there is black leather trim, air conditioning, and a CD car radio. Under the hood we find a 4.0-liter in-line six, developing 193 horsepower for 318 Nm of torque. Everything is transmitted to the four-wheel drive via a four-speed automatic transmission, while a MagnaFlow exhaust line completes the list of modifications.
This Jeep Wrangler Rubicon limousine only displays 67.650 kilometers on the meter, and has been auctioned on the Cars & Bids site: at the time of writing, the bids have passed the 10,000 dollar mark, or the equivalent of 8,200 euros.
