New Audi RS3 (2021): first appearance!

Audi unveils the very first images of its future RS3, in Sportback and sedan versions. The model could develop up to 450 hp. Electrification could also be on its program …

Audi is happy. The German manufacturer has never sold so many sports models. Last year, the firm delivered more than 29,300 “R” or “RS” branded vehicles, an increase of 16% compared to 2019. A record.

It must be said that the offer of Audi Sport, the high performance division of the brand with the rings, has never been so extensive. More than 15 models are now available in the catalog. And the latter will soon have two more …

The new RS3 in Sportback and sedan versions

Audi has just unveiled all first official images of his new… RS3, in its Sportback and sedan versions!

During a discussion on the future of its sports branch organized between Sebastian Grams and Rolf Michl, respectively CEO and head of sales and marketing of Audi Sport, the manufacturer has indeed exposed its future compact supercharged at the middle of the other models in the range.

The two variants are presented logically in camouflage clothing but nevertheless reveal an ever sharper style

with in particular more marked lines and more and more gaping air inlets.

Up to 450 hp?

If for the moment Audi obviously does not reveal anything of their technical sheet, it is a safe bet that the cars will benefit from a increased power. They could thus announce 420 ch, against 400 hp currently, or even 450 hp in “RS3 Plus” version. Enough to tickle the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC + and its 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine of 421 hp.

A new electrified RS3?

This cavalry should always come from the traditional 2.5L TFSI 5-cylinder block, unlessAudi has the surprise in store for us to electrify its models. Sebastian Grams and Rolf Michl have indeed announced that more than half of Audi Sport models will be offered in a partially (micro-hybrid or plug-in hybrid) or fully electrified form from 2024. And by 2026, this figure will even reach 80% . Will this prediction apply to the future RS3?
