the Losange launches its electric entity

Renault is launching an entity which will regroup its activities linked to the production of electric cars in the North of France.

The automotive group Renault gave birth to an entire entity dedicated solely to the manufacture of electric vehicles: it will be called Renault ElectriCity.

A French pole of excellence

To do this, the group led by Luca de Meo wishes to bring together three factories located in Hauts-de-France. For the CEO of the group, his ambition is clear: he wants to merge these subsidiaries to facilitate local synergies between the different sites, and in particular in terms of management of jobs and skills.

The goal is to create a efficient and competitive business unit, devoted entirely to electric vehicles. This new impetus naturally follows on from the plan Renaulution, spurred earlier this year by the new brand director.

Renault ElectriCity will create 700 new hires

This new structure Renault ElectriCity, devoted entirely to electricity, will concern three factories in Hauts-de-France.

The locations concerned in the Nord department are those of Douai, which assembles Scénic, Talisman, Espace and future Mégane, as well as that of Maubeuge, which assembles utility vehicles such as the Kangoo. There is also the Ruitz site in Pas-de-Calais, which assembles gearboxes in particular.

To embark on the development of the factories concerned, 700 hires would be expected by end of 2024.
