On July 1, the ecological bonus will be planed, while the conversion bonus will be tightened. We explain what is changing.
Be careful, if you want to buy a car that can benefit from the ecological bonus, now is the time! Indeed, on July 1, the bonus will suffer a severe blow of the plane, and the same goes for the conversion bonus. We take stock.
The ecological bonus cut by € 1,000
Because of the Covid, the measure had been postponed by 6 months. But this time, you won’t cut it. The maximum amount of the ecological bonus will pass, July 1, 2021, from € 7,000 to € 6,000. This amount is valid for a purchased electric less than € 45,000 (Renault Zoe, Honda e, Fiat 500…). If it is worth between 45,000 and 60,000 € (like a Tesla Model 3 or a Volkswagen ID.4 for example), the bonus will increase from 3,000 to 2,000 €.
The same goes for plug-in hybrids of less than € 50,000, whose bonus will increase from € 2,000 to € 1,000.
Conversion bonus: the end of diesel!
For its part, the conversion bonus is also going to take a hit on July 1. In fact, only vehicles bearing the Crit’Air 1 sticker will now be eligible, which excluded de facto all diesels, even recent. Species from before 2011 no longer fit into this framework either. Clearly, if you plan to exchange your old car for a new one, and benefit from the premium, you must buy a gasoline put into circulation in 2011, or an electric.
In short, if you want to buy a car that comes within the scope of these aids, you have to act quickly. Fortunately, a proof of purchase will suffice for the payment of the bonus. You will not have to have taken delivery of the car before July 1 to benefit from the bonus of € 7,000, for example.
But beware ! In a few months, from January 1, 2022, the government has planned a further tightening of aid. If you missed the boat for July 1, don’t miss the one for January 1 …
