Porsche is expanding the range of the 911 by launching the GTS version. This is available in coupe, convertible and Targa.
The 911 range continues to grow. Just days after the arrival of the GT3 Pack Touring, the family of the German sportswoman is counting five new members. And good news: all are GTS logo !
More than 2 years after the launch of the new 911, Porsche has finally affixed this famous emblem on the 992 generation. This one fills the gap that existed until now between the 911 Carrera S (450 hp) and the 911 Turbo ( 580 hp).
Five variants are therefore on the program and all the silhouettes of the 911 are concerned: Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa. On the menu :
These new GTS versions all have a six-cylinder flat engine whose power has been increased to 480 ch, 30 hp more than the current Carrera S and 30 hp more than the old 911 GTS. Compared to the previous generation, the torque takes 20 Nm and is now displayed at 570 Nm.
Porsche offers the choice between a 7-speed manual transmission or a 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Coupe and convertible are available propulsion or four-wheel drive while the Targa is automatically offered with all-wheel drive.
The brand also announces a ” chassis with specific settings to GTS models with sport Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system and 10 mm lowering ”for the coupe and convertible versions (the 911 Targa 4 GTS is fitted with the chassis of the 911 Targa 4S). The high performance brake system is taken from the 911 Turbo, while the sport exhaust system with specific settings is supplied as standard.
For the first time, the GTS models will also be able to be equipped with a lean design pack offering an additional weight reduction of up to 25 kg (full carbon fiber reinforced polymer bucket seats, lightened glass in the side and rear window, removal of the rear seat, etc.). In addition, “this equipment package includes the rear wheels as standard as well as additional aerodynamic optimizations”, announces Porsche. What greatly improve the dynamism of the beast …
Result, thus armed, the 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé with PDK gearbox cuts down from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.3 s. It is three tenths better than its predecessor.
In addition to technical improvements, the new GTS variants also benefit and as always from a more aggressive look, which is characterized in particular by black body elements and tinted LED headlights. There are also black light alloy rims borrowed from the 911 Turbo S (20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear). On the 911 Targa 4 GTS, the standard roll bar and monogram are also available in black.
This color also dominates in the passenger compartment with many black Race-Tex elements, a textile produced from recycled fibers. The Sport GT steering wheel, Sport Plus seats and the Sport Chrono package with drive mode selector are standard here. As for the monogram “GTS”, it is found embroidered on the headrests. The GTS models also benefit from the latest generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) multimedia system.
The new Porsche 911 GTS are already available to order. Range starts at € 144,022 with the Carrera GTS.
