Honda unveils the first images and the first information concerning its new Civic 5-door, which will not arrive in Europe until the fall of 2022!
Last April, Honda unveiled the 11th generation Civic, first in a four-door version that will not see the light of day in Europe. Today, make way for the 5-door variant, which will indeed be offered on the Old Continent.
But for now, the car is fully revealed in its… American configuration. The European model, for its part, is simply presented through first two photos (red model) and some information.
On the images, we therefore discover a calm Civic “hatchback”. Gone is the manga side, very divisive, of its predecessor. The new generation adopts a less aggressive and more serious style to please a wider audience. Its hood flattens, its shoulders gain volume and its grille as its air intakes are reduced.
The change is even more striking at the rear. The stern wants to be less tortured and more conventional than before. The lights, in particular, are completely new. Redesigned, they now encroach on the tailgate and are linked together by a thin strip. The shield is also redesigned and incorporates a new diffuser and new exhaust tips.
Inside, the car will also make its revolution. Modernized, it will notably inaugurate a new central touch screen which will be installed at the top of a completely new dashboard. At the same time, the quality of materials and assemblies seems to have been revised upwards, which allows the whole to gain in elegance.
Finally, under the hood, Honda tells us that its new Civic will be only offered with a hybrid engine. It will be the e: HEV powertrain, already present on the latest Jazz and Jazz Crosstars, the CR-V and the new HR-V which will be marketed later in the year.
For its part, the new Civic 5-door will arrive on the European market in autumn 2022.
