Aston Martin let go, with the Valkyrie AMR Pro: a Le Mans prototype look, F1 performance… That promises!
“The ultimate hypercar”. “F1 performances. “” Enough to win Le Mans “… Aston Martin is not going all the way to describe its new Valkyrie AMR Pro. It must be said that the whole is impressive to say the least. On the menu, a cutting-edge aero developed by Red Bull and the legendary Adrian Newey, an atmospheric V12 of 1000 hp, and no technical regulations to slow this monster.
If this Valkyrie AMR Pro looks, from a distance, like the “normal” version of the Valkyrie, make no mistake about it. The whole has been completely revised. Indeed, this extreme tracker comes straight from Le Mans! When Aston Martin was preparing the Valkyrie for the road, the manufacturer also planned to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the category Hypercar. But since then, the brand’s priorities and the technical regulations of the category have both changed. The plan to fight for victory in Sarthe was abandoned, in favor of the Formula 1 team.
This Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro takes up this racing car project for Le Mans, and is free from any technical regulations. The wheelbase has been considerably lengthened, and gains 380 mm. The car as a whole grows 266 mm in length and 115 mm in width. In short, if the look is similar between the road version and this monster for the track, the proportions are completely different.
Under the ridge, typical of racing cars entered at Le Mans, we find the Atmospheric V12. Developed by Cosworth, the latter produces a power of 1 000 ch. Between this power, a little weight saved, and the aero completely revised by Red Bull, the Valkyrie AMR Pro would be able, according to Aston Martin, to buckle a tour of the grand circuit of Le Mans in 3mn 20s. It is probably much faster than the Toyota, Alpine and Glickenhaus which will fight for victory in 2021! Aston Martin also promises performance ” close to an F1“. There will be sports.
Obviously, this extreme creation will be reserved for the circuit. Aston Martin does not specify a price (probably astronomical), but indicates that the brand will organize specific track days for the lucky owners of Valkyrie AMR Pro at various circuits. They will then be pampered by a welcome of great luxury and especially professional pilots who can coach them so that they get the most out of their extreme toy.
The test program will start very quickly, with the delivery of the first cars expected for the end of the year. Aston Martin will only build 40 Valkyrie AMR Pro and two prototypes.
