Jeep equips its 4×4 with indestructible windshields!

The American manufacturer Jeep decided to install Gorilla Glass windshields on the Wrangler and the Gladiator. This glass that is generally found on smartphones is practically unbreakable!

Jeeps and more particularly Wranglers and Gladiators are above all designed to challenge very rough terrain. Often far from the asphalt! Whether in the forest or the desert, pebbles and other branches are much more likely to damage the windshield. Especially since its almost vertical position on these two models considerably increases the risk of cracking, even on the road!

Gorilla Glass

Fortunately, Jeep found a solution. Its name: Gorilla Glass! If this name perhaps means something to you, it is because this technology has been used for a long time on our smartphones. The glass is then chemically treated to make it 3 times more impact resistant! As a bonus, it also allows the windshield to be thinner and lighter! So many advantages.

$ 80 in the United States

This technological breakthrough will be offered as an option in the United States for the modest sum of $ 80! It will also be possible to order such a windshield for any Wrangler dating from after 2007.. For the moment, it is impossible to know if this equipment will make the trip to Europe.. But since European smartphones have already been equipped with such technology for many years, we can probably hope that this option will also make its arrival on the Old Continent.
