As part of the publication of its new strategic plan, Skoda has pledged to launch three new all-electric models by 2030.
At the start of summer 2021, it is time to profession of faith within the Volkswagen group. One by one, all the brands of the group go there from their electrical promises.
After Audi and Volkswagen, who both announced the end of the production of thermal engines in Europe by 2033-2035, it is Skoda’s turn to unveil its roadmap in electrification.
The Czech manufacturer’s new strategic plan, dubbed “Next Level – Skoda Strategy 2030”, should make Skoda one of the five best-selling car brands in Europe by 2030 and the leading European brand in growing regions that are India, Russia and North Africa. No more no less.
To achieve this, Skoda will notably strengthen its position in entry-level segments while accelerating in the electric market. Regarding this last point, the company announces in fact that it wants to launch three zero-emission novelties in the course of the decade.
“The product portfolio will be expanded to include at least three other fully electric models by 2030,” promises the firm.
If the identity of these models is still unknown, the manufacturer states that they will all be ” positioned below the Enyaq iV, in terms of price and size. “
As a reminder, the Enyaq iV is an SUV 4.64 meters long displayed on the French market from € 36,050, ecological bonus not deducted.
With these novelties, Skoda is targeting a share of fully electric models of 50 to 70% in Europe by 2030.
