McLaren and Lando Norris on the Austrian GP Podium!

Max Verstappen outrageously dominates this Austrian Grand Prix. Bottas finished second and Lando Norris snatched third place!

While Max Verstappen had largely dominated the Styrian Grand Prix last week, he doubles the bet this weekend with a new first place! The Dutch driver led the race from start to finish. He was even able to afford the luxury of an additional stop to ensure the point of the best lap and pocket 26 points in total.

An aggressive Lando Norris

Behind him, the young Lando Norris had an excellent qualifying session moving up to 2nd place on the grid. He finally finished in a very good 3rd place despite a 5-second penalty. It is placed behind a Valtteri Bottas who achieves his best result of the season.

A justified penalty for the young driver. During the first lap, at the 4th bend the Briton leaves no room for Sergio Pérez on the outside. The latter then finds himself in the gravel pit, which makes him fall from 3rd to 10th place.

The Mexican rider will finally get back to 6th place but will receive a 10-second penalty for having achieved2 times the same action on Charles Leclerc who tried to pass it! This extra time finally made him finish in 8th place.

Esteban Ocon forced to retire

Lewis Hamilton was not in luck and finished 4th, far from the top three. The defending champion had aerodynamic problems on his car. He will not be able to defend against Lando Norris after having to let his teammate pass.

The start of the race was marked by the collision between Ocon and Giovinazzi which took place from the second corner. The Frenchman was forced to retire with a bent left front wheel. This event required the intervention of the safety car and a restart, very well managed by Max Verstappen.

Alonso snatches 10th place from Russel

George Russell got his weekend off to a good start by moving up to Q3 in qualifying on Saturday. Placed in 10th place at the end of the race, he couldn’t resist Fernando Alonso. The double champion of the mon ends up doubling it after a good battle.

The Spanish pilot on Alpine had meanwhile seen the Q3 narrowly escaped him. The fault of several drivers idling between turns 9 and 10 during the qualifying session.
