Lamborghini unveils a new limited series of its Aventador: the “Ultimae” edition, which marks the end of the supercar’s career and its legendary V12 atmo.
Launched in 2011, Lamborghini Aventador celebrates its 10th anniversary this year careers. An eternity in the automotive world. The sportswoman is therefore preparing to bow out. It will soon give way to a replacement that is said to be already electrified since it is hybrid.
While waiting for the arrival of this heiress, hoped for 2022 or 2023, Lamborghini offers a last lap to his Aventador by declining it in a ultimate version (and an ultimate version) called “Ultimae”. This is a numbered series limited to only 600 copies (350 Coupé and 250 Roadster).
If she receives the legendary V12 6.5l atmospheric engine house, which also bids farewell, this edition stands out above all thanks to increased power. Mounted in a longitudinal position, its block indeed delivers 780 ch (and 720 Nm of torque), or 40 hp more than the Aventador S and 10 hp more than the SVJ. Via a 7-speed sequential gearbox, this cavalry is also sent to the four wheels, as the full name of the car indicates: “LP 780-4”. A carbon-ceramic braking system and four-wheel steering also complete the artillery.
Result, with a dry weight of 1 550 kg (monocoque and carbon fiber body), 25 kg less than the Aventador S and 25 kg more than the SVJ, the Ultimae can swallow the 0 to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. 0 to 200 km / h takes only 8.7 seconds. All with a top speed of 355 km / h in Coupe configuration. That’s 5 km / h more than the SVJ.
“The Aventador LP780-4 represents the final, purest and most timeless version of Lamborghini’s atmospheric production V12,” summarizes Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini.
A final version all the more ultimate in that in addition to increasing its performance, it pays particular attention to its aerodynamics (specific front bumpers, rear deflector, etc.) and its design.
Its look is indeed inspired by “the timeless elegance of the S model”, assures Lamborghini. The Ultimae is presented today as a Coupé in a two-tone configuration gray on gray which is enhanced by touches of mat red “Rosso Mimir”. Its Roadster version, dressed in a biton blue Blu Tawaret and Blu Nethuns dress, can receive an exposed carbon fiber roof.
Inside, leather, Alcantara and contrasting stitching are there. Just like the Comfort seats, borrowed from the Aventador S. These are embroidered with the name “Ultimae”. The dashboard area has a number ranging from 001 to 350 or 250, in reference to the limited edition.
Best of all, the model enjoys a new options palette for the bodywork and the passenger compartment. 300 colors are notably available through the “Lamborghini Ad Personam” personalization division.
Latest L’Aventador bar presented at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed, England, July 8-11. Its marketing date and prices have not yet been communicated.
