Renault reveals the date of presentation of its new Mégane. The world premiere of the compact, now 100% electric, is scheduled for September 6, 2021!

The mystery surrounding the future Renault Mégane gets up little by little. One month after having discovered the first pictures and the first technical specificities of the machine, it is the date of presentation that is now known!

World premiere at the Munich show!

Renault has indeed officially announced that the world premiere of the compact will take place on September 6. The event will take place on the occasion of the opening of IAA car showroom of Munich, in Germany (ex Frankfurt fair).

“Renault will be present in Hall B1 with a device dedicated to the new 100% electric Mégane E-Tech from Monday, September 6, during the first day dedicated to the press”, details the diamond brand in a press release.

Concerning the car, we already know that it will be aesthetically close to the eVision show-car which was unveiled in October 2020. In particular, it will be entitled to the same “S” -shaped front light signature and the same vintage, streaked and illuminated logo.

Inside, it will also be completely redesigned compared to the current Mégane with a floating center console and an new dashboard. A large digital panel will also be on the program. It will consist of two screens positioned in L,

one dedicated to the instrument cluster and the other to the new generation multimedia system.

Finally, on the technical side, the compact will be based on plateforme CMF-EV (Common Module Family-Electric Vehicles) of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. It will be endowed witha 217 hp electric motor and a 60 kWh battery for a range of up to 450 km (cycle WLTP).

Produced at the end of the year at the Douai plant (North), the new Mégane will be marketed at the start of 2022.

Alongside this Mégane E-Tech Electric, also called MéganE (pronounced “Mégane i”), the firm will also exhibit its R5 Prototype, iconic Renault 5s, models from its electrified E-Tech range as well as its new Mobilize brand dedicated to mobility services.
