Jeep unveils the first images of its new Grand Cherokee. The fifth generation of the SUV comes in a 4xe plug-in hybrid version.
The Stellantis group, recently born from the merger between PSA and Fiat-Chrysler, has just unveiled its major plans for the future at a major event organized in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In particular, the firm announced that it wanted to “invest more than 30 billion euros by 2025 in electrification and software ”. Objective: that “Low Emission” vehicles (LEV) represent more than 70% of its sales in Europe and more than 40% in the USA by 2030.

In the wake of Stellantis announcements, the American manufacturer has also released the first images of a brand new electrified vehicle. Jeep broadcast pictures of the future Grand Cherokee, which will be available in version 4xe, that is to say plug-in hybrid.
At this stage, little information has been disclosed. But everything suggests that the connected SUV will resume the engine of the Wrangler 4xe. Under its hood, we should therefore find a four-cylinder 2.0l turbo petrol with 272 hp and one 145 hp electric motor. Ptotal expected power: 380 hp. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 17.3 kWh could also be part. Theall-electric range would be around 50 kilometers.
This plug-in hybrid version could be the only one offered in Europe while thermal blocks should also be offered across the Atlantic.
The fifth generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be revealed on August 20 next at the opening of the New York auto show.
