BMW introduces the M /// badge on a motorcycle for the first time. For its presentation, the M 1000 RR goes around the track in the company of an M3 Competition
BMW is a versatile manufacturer that produces both cars and motorcycles. Whether on two or four wheels, the propeller brand knows how to make rolling objects very, very, efficient. And when in addition a video combines the best of both worlds, why deprive yourself?
BMW is therefore presenting its latest two-wheeled super sports car, the M 1000 RR. It is also about the first time that the logo M /// appears on a BMW motorcycle. Taking over from the radical S 1000 RR, it is full of technology for ever more impressive performance.
For her first laps of the wheels, BMW took her to the circuit to take full advantage of her 4 cylinders of 212 hp climbing to more than 15,000 rpm. To accompany it and seal the link which now unites motorcycle and car, there is a M3 equipped with the Competition pack.
The sedan also has serious assets to highlight, in particular its 6-cylinder twin-turbo 510 hp.In both cases, the performance is breathtaking (even if in terms of ventilation, one of the two leaves with a clear advantage…). With only 170 kg dried up, the M 1000 RR accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.1 seconds and reached 315 km / peak. The M3 although more powerful, also accuses a much higher weight with more than 1700 kg on the scale. 100 km / h are reached in 3.9 seconds whereas the maximum speed is in any case limited to 250 km / h.
