A collision between two buses circulating in a station in Singapore sent one of them toppling into a vacuum: a total of 17 people were taken to hospital for treatment.
Last Sunday, two buses collided at Bukit Batok bus station in suburban Singapore. The impact came as one of them was leaving the scene and another was arriving. The shock violence caused one of the two vehicles to climb onto the sidewalk, hit a security barrier and fell 2 or 3 meters below. Video captured by a surveillance camera shows the bus driver being thrown out the window and miraculously spared during the the fall of the vehicle.
Quickly arrived on the scene, the emergency services had a hard time rescuing the many people present on the premises. Some of them had already managed to get out of the bus while others were stuck inside. In all, 17 victims were taken to hospitals in the region for treatment but none appear to have been seriously injured. One of the drivers was arrested for causing an accident causing injuries.
