The holidays continue in France. And on this second weekend of school holidays, departures will intensify. For Smart Bison, traffic will be heavy from July 16 to 18 on most major routes to the south and coastal areas. To make matters worse, more and more holidaymakers from Northern Europe will be traveling to France during their own country’s school holidays.
Friday July 16, in the direction of departures, significant flows of vehicles and congestion on major motorways are expected. More particularly on the A7, A8 and A9 motorways towards the Mediterranean. Traffic difficulties are expected in urban areas between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. where the departures of holidaymakers will be added to the usual trips. In Île-de-France, the first slowdowns will be recorded at the end of the morning. In particular on the A6b motorway and the ring roads (Boulevard Périphérique and A86) which converge on the A6 and A10 motorways. These difficulties will be reinforced in the middle of the afternoon by the flow of work-home journeys. Traffic will remain very heavy until late in the evening. Also on the A13 motorway, traffic difficulties could be recorded from mid-afternoon. They could still be present until late in the evening.
