Production of the freshly restyled SEAT Ibiza and Arona began this week at the SEAT factory in Martorell, near Barcelona, Spain.
Since its launch in 1984, the SEAT Ibiza has sold almost 6 million units in five generations, which makes it one of the most popular models of the Spanish firm. The SEAT Arona is a more recent model: riding the wave of small urban SUVs since 2017, it has sold for almost 400,000 copies nowadays.
The production of the two city models of SEAT began this week, at the plant of the Spanish firm in Martorell, near Barcelona: “ Equally important to the Martorell plant are the SEAT Ibiza and Arona, as they represent half of the plant’s production. Updated and improved versions of these two models will help maintain their position as key models in the lineup. »Says Herbert Steiner, executive vice president of SEAT for production and logistics
The modifications to the exterior are discreet, with new rims, new colors as well as new handwritten typography badges for both models. The Ibiza now offers 100% LED headlights as standard, while a new Xperience finish makes its appearance on the Arona, with a new redesigned front bumper.
It is inside that the modifications are the most important: the cockpit is adorned with better quality materials, new aerators, a new multifunction steering wheel, as well astouch screens larger for the infotainment system (from 8.25 to 9.2 inches depending on the version), compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly, and controllable by voice with the phrase “Hola Hola”.
The restyled SEAT Ibiza is marketed from 16.215 euros, while the restyled Arona is displayed from 17.990 euros. The range of petrol engines starts from 80 and 90 horsepower respectively, and is capped by a TSI version of 150 horsepower. A 90 hp natural gas fuel version (TGI) is also available, but no Diesel engine is available.
