Volkswagen has finally opened orders for its small campervan, the Caddy California!
While the Volkswagen Caddy, an MPV competitor to the Renault Kangoo, Citroën Berlingo and other Peugeot Rifter, was presented in February 2020, it took a little longer for its version. converted van, the Caddy California. Based on the new Volkswagen Caddy, the Caddy California benefits from its upmarket and equipment. On the driver’s side, there are therefore many elements taken directly from the Golf VIII, such as touch controls or the optional digital instrument cluster. Same thing on the side driving aids, which are overwhelming here.
What prices for the Caddy California?
In terms of equipment specific to this California version, there is a integrated kitchenette and sliding option. The Caddy California therefore becomes homologous VASP. We also discover a large folding bed with box spring. You can also opt for a large glass roof, and even a tent system integrated into the back of the Caddy.
Everything is paid for obviously, and often in options. Still, the base rates are rather interesting: from 34 680 € for the Caddy California, and € 37,330 for the Maxi long version (+ 35 cm). All available in essence 114 ch or in diesel 122 ch, in automatic or manual gearbox, and in two or four driving wheels. The most expensive version, the Caddy California Maxi 2.0 TDI 4Motion, is charged 43 620 €.
