Announced in early 2021, the Renaulution plan will change everything at Renault. We take stock of the novelties as we approach!
At the beginning of the year, Renault made an impression with his major conference Renaulution. The new CEO Luca de Meo then unveiled a major battle plan, which should guide Renault in its transition to electric. And for once, the Losange has put the package: 14 new products are announced by 2025. We have gathered here the main new models, those which are already confirmed. And enter model deletions a lot et rapid electrification, things will change at Renault!
Let’s start with the models that will disappear: there are many. Renault will indeed operate a big brush through its range. Several models will not be renewed at the end of their career. We think in particular of the Koleos SUV, the Scénic and Espace minivans, the sedan Talisman, but also to the Twingo. The little Twizy should not be renewed either. On the other hand, some of these names could come back in another form: we think for example of the electric SUV scheduled for 2023, which could be called Scénic.
This will be one of the biggest novelties of this 2021 school year: the Mégane is making its revolution! Presented at the Munich Motor Show on September 6, the compact will now be 100% electric, with a crossover-style format. We expect a 217 hp engine, and a range up to 450 km. It will use the group’s new electrical platform, CMF-EV. Marketing scheduled for early 2022.
It’s no secret that the Kadjar is in trouble. It is dominated by its rivals and in particular the Peugeot 3008. In short, Renault will have to start all over again. The look will completely change, to take up the tense lines of Renault concepts of recent years. It will be based on the platform of the new Nissan Qashqai. We are waiting for him early 2022.
It does not yet have a name, but Renault has already teased its silhouette: an electric SUV will land around 2023. Like the future Mégane, it will be based on the Nissan Ariya platform. In a similar format, we expect autonomy up to 580 km, all to compete with the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID. 4. And it could take a name that has disappeared, like the Scenic, for example.
This is THE star of the Renaulution grand plan: the R5 will be back! A city car with a neo-retro look directly inspired by the cubic icon, it will be 100% electric. She will replace thecurrent Zoe, with a platform derived from the current Clio. Performance should remain close to that of the Zoe: 136 hp for 400 km of autonomy.
The Zoe, she shouldn’t go away. The city car should upgrade to a higher range, while the R5 ensures the entry into electric. The platform should be that of the electric Mégane, but the template should remain similar, around 4 m long.
If Renault is also loudly celebrating the 60th anniversary of the friendly 4L, it is no coincidence. The Losange prepares its big comeback, in electric. This new Renault 4 will be a small crossover urban, which will also have, like the original, its utility version. A first concept should be unveiled this year.
When announcing the major Renaulution plan, the Renault group took the opportunity to announce many new products for its other brands. In Dacia, we expect a large SUV, the Bigster. Alpine will become 100% electric, with an SUV, a muscular city car derived from the R5, and a small sports car developed with Lotus. Finally, the new brand Mobilize, dedicated to new forms of mobility, announced 3 small vehicles, the Bento, the Duo, and the Hippo.
