the forecast for the crossover weekend

Discover Bison Futé’s traffic forecasts for the summer 2021 crossover weekend, from Friday July 30 to Monday August 2.

The coming weekend will probably be the most difficult of this summer: it is the traditional crossover between the “Julyists” and the “Augustans”. Without surprise, many motorists will take the road for this new holiday weekend, if we are to believe the forecasts of smart one.

Indeed, the little Indian specialist in road traffic generally plans a busy weekend in the direction of departures and returns, with difficulties from this Friday, July 30: it is advisable, in the direction of departures, to leave or cross the ‘Île-de-France before 12 noon, and avoid leaving or returning to the big cities between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. In the direction of the returns, it is advisable to join or cross the Île-de-France before 2 p.m.

The day of Saturday July 31 will be the most difficult, with a ranking in Noir (extremely difficult traffic) throughout the territory in the direction of departures. The vast majority of roads will be affected, and in particular on the A6, A7, A8 and A9 motorways, in the South-East and on the Mediterranean Arc, on the A20, A61, A62 and A63 in the South-West, or on the A10 motorway towards the Grand-Ouest.

Bison Futé strongly advises against riding during the night from Friday to Saturday, and throughout the day from Saturday. It would then be better to wait for the day of Sunday 1is

August to circulate, or even ideally, the day of Monday, August 2, which is classified Vert at the national level in the direction of returns.
