The year 2022 will be marked by many novelties in the segment of motorhomes and converted vans: an overview of the future models planned for next year.
On the side of the Germans at home Bürstner, the 2022 calendar will be rich, with many new models of motorhomes planned: for example the Bürstner Campeo Black Forest, a special series over-equipped with the van fitted out on a Citroën Jumper carrier, inspired by the Black Forest, the region of origin of the brand. The Copa Trail is a converted van based on a Ford Transit Custom, which is inspired by SUVs and other crossovers, with an adventurer design and matte black finishes: release scheduled for spring 2022.
Another German manufacturer, Knaus will offer several models of streamlined motorhomes and converted vans based on a MAN TGE forwarder: the Sky TI 650 MF, Van TI Plus 640 ME, Boxdrive 680 ME and Boxdrive 600 XL will soon be added to the range, with a diesel engine of 180 horses. In addition to their specific fittings, Knaus will enrich its catalog in 2022 with the arrival of new equipment options: magnetic cups, new navigation system, Bluuwater filter to improve water quality, Smart TV, not to mention new security features.
On the home side Westfalia, the Meridian Limited will be launched in spring 2022: it is a campervan that is inaugurating a Ford Transit forwarder for the first time at the German manufacturer, member of the French group Rapido. This limited series will offer a wealth of equipment: metallic paint, 16-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, visibility pack, audio system, electrical pre-wiring for the towing device, etc.
At the house of Hobby, the 2022 range will consist of 21 motorhome models: there will be new converted vans, including the Vantana Ontour Edition, which is distinguished by a sliding system for two 11 kg gas cylinders, a television with satellite installation, or a complete GPS navigation system. The Vantana De Luxe, based on Fiat Ducato, offers two new furniture decors, with modern and warm finishes. The Optima De Luxe is a profile that offers a more dynamic style, with a new roof scoop, as well as a new stove-sink combination on board, as well as revised interior furniture.
The year 2022 will also be marked by the arrival of a new brand: it is about Joa Camp, a new offer from the French group Pilote, which targets a younger clientele with entry-level products. There will be 5 profiled motorhomes and 3 converted vans in its range, all based on a Citroën Jumper carrier. Inside, you can opt for twin or central beds, making it possible to comfortably accommodate a small family.
Last year in 2020, sales of campervans / converted vans increased by 20% in France, while those of motor homes were up 21%, with 160,000 units sold. This trend, which is confirmed for this year, is on track to continue in 2022. Manufacturers are still preparing many other novelties for 2022: most should be presented at the Düsseldorf Motorhome Show, which will be held from August 27 to September 5, 2021.
