It’s hard to believe that a 4-liter, over 400 hp V8 from a BMW M3 is hiding in the bowels of this little Mini. Yet this is the work carried out by Powerflex engineers.
Some mechanics like to play Frankenstein by taking elements here and there to create atypical cars. It always gives rise to amazing machines. Sometimes they are rough, and sometimes very well finished. This is the case of this little Mini presented at the Goodwood Festival. Even if you inspect it closely, you can’t imagine that a 4-liter V8 that offered 419 hp to a BMW M3 E92 is lurking under the hood..
If the result is so remarkable, it is because this project required nearly 4 years of work from the engineers at Powerflex! On the outside you might think everything is original, but this Mini is actually fitted with widened fenders to accept new Toyo Proxes R888R rims. These semi-slick tires should allow it to transfer its significant power to the ground without too much difficulty.
Power is all about it! The 419 hp of the BMW S65 V8 from a M3 E92 pass through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, before ending their race on the rear wheels! Yes, this Mini is a real propulsion! The work done on this machine is simply impressive. This car is so unique that it even has a little name just for it: Vini.
